Will photographers shoot video in 10 years?

I haven’t posted here for a while due to a short vacation and a heavy workload. Dirk Halstead over at the Digital Journalist blog published an editorial on the future of still photography.

Google Picasa iPhoto Plugin Released

Google is now offering two ways for Mac and iPhoto users to upload their images to the popular Picasa Web Albums service.
This download contains both the plug-in for iPhoto™ and a standalone application, either of which can be used to upload photos from your Mac to Picasa Web Albums.

It could have been the big day for Microsoft launching their new OS Windows Vista but Apple took its share of the spotlight introducing the iPod Shuffle in pink, green, blue and orange.

Watch out for some serious imaging-nerd-stuff. Frédo Durand and Julie Dorsey have published a paper for a fast bilateral filter with better accuracy and formal analysis on their project page. Their technique reduces the contrast while preserving the details and they offer a PDF as well as sample code for download.
